Casey is a boxer, which is a breed I am not too familiar with. I don't know why they aren't more popular, since I've been reading that they're great family dogs and are trained as guide dogs for the blind. Casey is SO friendly. We hit it off the moment we met.
This is Casey sitting so calmly with the sunlight streaming behind her. You wouldn't know that a LOT of work went into capturing the perfect picture of her. I am thrilled with how this turned out!
Casey's owner told me how she had a boxer when she was growing up. That dog's name was Sugar. Later I mentioned this to my husband, who immediately said, "Oh, like Sugar Ray Leonard?" I asked, and sure enough, Sugar the boxer was named after Sugar Ray Leonard the boxer! And apparently my husband was one of the few people to make that connection. He's pretty sharp.
Here's Casey in the yard.
She looks like she's smiling! What a happy face.
Casey isn't allowed on the furniture. Her owners said it was OK and made an exception for a special occasion like a photo shoot, but when they tried to get her up on the couch, she hopped on then hopped right off! She follows the rules very well.
Look at that curiosity! She's a little intimidating at first glance, but this dog is pure marshmallow inside.
